Hello! I'm Alyssa
Thanks for taking the time to check out my photography work and my site.
I'm a New Mexican and was brought up in a large family in the East Mountains. My husband and I have three beautiful girls, regularly modeling for me, and an inexplicable love for the outdoors. Not many things feel as free as the sunlight trickling to the ground or the dirt coming up into the air, and I take joy in emphasizing the connections between people and landscape.
How I got here...
My formal education is in Architecture, with experience in travel, design, marketing, and construction.
I have always loved capturing quick moments with a camera. First it was disposable film cameras, then a point and shoot of my own, and finally, I landed a second-hand Canon DSLR in college. After learning the skills of shooting in Manual Mode with RAW image files (woohoo!), I made the big step to a mirrorless camera. Every step of this journey has been such a joy, and if it wasn't competing with my family time and gear wasn't so expensive, I swear, I'd do it for free. I love it and I learn something new with every portrait session I complete.
My ultimate goal is to find families who value portraits of their loved ones as much as I do, and deliver beautiful, and honest, images.
See you (through my lens!) soon! - Alyssa
